Stephen Wayne Avis, 51, of Inglis, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Sept. 8, charged with domestic battery ($5,000 bond). According to the arrest report, Avis and the victim were involved in a verbal dispute that became physical. The victim told a deputy that Avis kicked her twice in her abdomen, and she then went toward him, and they went onto the ground. She said that she was on her back, and Avis was on top of her, holding her hands against her chest. Avis told the deputy that he had not kicked the victim, but he'd held her down to get her to calm down. A witness told the deputy that he drove into the driveway and saw Avis on top of the woman, and he initially thought that Avis was administering CPR to her, but when he realized that Avis was holding her down, he drove away.
Loriann Ballou, 38, of Inglis, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Sept. 9, on an out of county warrant ($2,184 cash-only bond).

Jonathan Daughtery, 38, of Inglis, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), Sept. 4, charged with possession of drug equipment ($1,000 bond). According to the arrest report, the LCSO was contacted by a Polk County, Florida deputy who reported that she'd detained Daughtery in the 4800 block of Highway 40 West in Yankeetown, Florida, due to him driving a moped near the sidewalk. During the traffic stop, the Polk County deputy learned that Daughtery's driver's license had been suspended. The deputy said that Daughtery told her that he used a vape pen to smoke marijuana, and she'd tested the pen and obtained a positive result for THC (the active ingredient in marijuana).

Sharon E. McBride, 63, of Morriston, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Sept. 4, charged with knowingly making a false report of an alleged crime or giving false information to law enforcement about an alleged crime ($10,000 bond). The arrrest report stated, that around 1:36 am, McBride spoke with a LCSO telecommunications operator via phone, claming that one of her roommates had choked her while she was sitting on the toilet, and had then lifted her up by her shoulders and thrown her onto a bed. Meanwhile, a deputy was speaking with the roommate in question, who stated that nothing had happened that night, that McBride doesn't use the bathroom where she claimed the incident had occurred, and she'd been drinking alcohol when she reported the alleged incident to 9-1-1. The report stated that McBride was slurring her words. Another roommate also told the deputy that nothing had happened that night. The report stated that no one had markings on their body to indicate that any violence had occurred that night, that McBride wanted the roommate she'd accused of battering her to vacate the premises - when he did not have the means to do so, although the roommate told the deputy that he was willing to leave the residence, as soon as it would be feasible for him to do so.
