August 18, 11:30 am: Fredrick Dean Blake, 81, of Homosassa, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, charged with criminal mischief of $200 or more, but less than $1,000 ($1,000 bond).
August 18, 3:01 pm: Kara Mae Helms, 28, of Floral City, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, charged with possession of a controlled substance ($2,000 bond).
August 18, 10:59 pm: Raymond Alex Hoover, 30, of St. Petersburg, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office during a traffic stop at W. Homosassa Trail and W. Stonewall Place in Homosassa, FL, due to a vehicle with a Nebraska license plate having no operable tag light. Mr. Hoover was the driver. His Nebraska driver's license had been suspended, and he had no Florida driver's license. When a K9 alerted to the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle, it was searched. Deputies located 4.02 grams of methamphetamine, and a glass bubble pipe that contained methamphetamine residue. Mr. Hoover was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving while license knowingly suspended or revoked, and possession of drug paraphernalia ($3,500 bond).
August 18, 10:03 am: Wesley Mitchell Mills, 22, of Inverness, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, charged with lewd and lascivious battery of a person between the ages of 12 and 16 ($10,000 bond).
August 18, 3:11 am: Daniel Molter Spurling, II, 45, of Crystal River, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office during a traffic stop at W. Elaine St. and N. Valentine Ter. in Crystal River, due to a stop bar violation at the intersection of W. Dunklin St. and N. Citrus Ave. When a deputy saw a metal smoking pipe (with maraijuana residue), the vehicle was searched. Deputies also located 0.64 gram of methamphetamine and a small amount of cannabis (marijuana) within the vehicle. Mr. Spurling was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis less than 20 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia ($4,000 bond). Spurling was also issued a written traffic warning for the stop bar violation.
