August 16, 2:44 pm: Thomas Edward Burnett (SEE PHOTO), 47, of Dunnellon, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office upon his discharge from Ocala Regional Medical Center, located at 1431 SW 1st Ave. in Ocala, FL. Mr. Burnett was arrested on a Citrus County warrant for aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer ($10,000 bond), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon ($10,000 bond), and premeditated murder (no bond). Mr. Burnett was transported to the Citrus County Detention Facility in Lecanto, FL. The arrest came from an incident that occurred about 6:00 pm, August 12, 2020, at a W. Amman St., Dunnellon residence. Mr. Burnett was at the residence in violation of a court order, threatened two deputies with a firearm, and then exited the residence, armed with two firearms. A press release stated that he fired one of the firearms in the direction of one of two deputies who were attempting to take cover near the door of the residence. Both deputies returned fire on Mr. Burnett, striking him. Burnett was transported to the hospital in unstated condition. The deputies were not injured.


August 16, 1:55 pm: Angela Kaye Callihan (SEE PHOTO), 40, of Inglis, FL, was arrested at Howard's Flear Market, located at 6373 S. Suncoast Blvd. (US 19) in Homosassa, FL by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office. She was arrested on a Citrus County warrant for violating an injunction for protection against domestic violence, criminal mischief of $1,000 or more, and trespassing in an unoccupied structure or conveyance (no bond).


August 16, 9:25 pm: Alex Henry Cleaveland, Sr., 40, of Floral City, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, charged with driving while license knowingly suspended or revoked as an habitual traffic offender, possession of cannabis less than 20 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia ($4,000 bond).


August 16, 3:07 pm: Robert Andrew Egan, 36, of Inverness, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, charged with domestic battery (no bond).


August 16, 2:02 am: Gabriel Dalton Gandy, 25, of Inverness, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, charged with 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia ($5,000 bond). The arrest occurred during a traffic stop at N. Redwood Ave. and E. Millwood Ln. in Hernando, due to Mr. Gandy riding a bicycle at night without a rear light. He was found to be in possession of 11 methylphenidate hydrochloride tablets, 0.7 gram of heroin, and a glass smoking pipe.


August 16, 5:28 pm: Jarred Michael Gard, 23, of Inverness, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, charged with possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia ($3,000 bond).


August 16, 11:56 pm: Darrin Lee Hamman, 32, of Floral City, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, charged with driving while license knowingly suspended or revoked, third offense, with a previous conviction; and having an unregistered vehicle ($2,500 bond). The arrest occurred during a traffic stop of a motorcycle driven by Mr. Hammer that was traveling south on Old Floral City Rd in the northbound lane with no license plate, headlights, or tail lights. The arrest report stated that Mr. Hamman's most recent drivers licene suspenion had occurred on March 19, 2019, for failure to pay financial obligations, and  it had been suspended, prior to that, on August 23, 2017.


August 16, 5:17 pm: Nathan Andrew James, Jr., 22, of Inverness, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office on a Citrus County warrant for criminal mischief of $200 or less ($500 bond).


August 16, 8:44 am: Javeyon Walker Redman, 19, of Inverness, FL, was arrested at his residence by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, charged with retail petit theft of $100 or less ($500 bond).  The arrest report stated, that on the previous day (August 15) at 7:27 pm, Mr. Redman is accused of taking two cases of beer, one of Michelob Ultra and one of Bud Lite Seltzer, with a combined value of $41.98, from the Circle K store, located at 817 South U.S. Highway 41 in Inverness, without paying for the items, and he then got into a white car and left the store.


August 16, 2:30 pm: Dylan Reed Roberts, 24, of Hernando, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, charged with theft of a motor vehicle and burglary of an unoccupied residence ($7,000 bond). At 9:48 am, Mr. Roberts was arrested on additional charges: criminal mischief of $200 or more, but less than $1,000; possession of a controlled substance, resisting an officer without violence, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools, and burglary of an unoccupied residence ($18,000 bond).


August 16, 6:22 pm: Ernest Jonathan Simmons (SEE PHOTOS), 28, of Inverness, FL, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office (CCSO), after a deputy noticed his vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of the Winn-Dixie supermarket at E. Hill St. and S. Woodlawn Ave. During a high speec pursuit, Mr. Simmons drove his vehicle into a culvert,  then tossed 15 grams of heroin - 150 doses accoording to the CCSO - from the vehicle. Deputies also found a Glock 19.9 mm firearm on the driver's seat floorboard, and another semi-automatic firearm within reach of the driver. Simmons was charged with possession of a firearm while in commission of a felony, and trafficking in greater than 4 grams of heroin ($40,000 bond).
