Levy County, Florida - On August 11, 2020 detectives with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office arrested 51 year-old Oscar Gomez Guerra, whose official address is stated to be Miami, Florida, on additional charges, subsequent to his initial arrest last week, August 4. Guerra's additional charges include 2 counts of grand theft of a vehicle and one count of operating a chop shop at his 21030 SE 71st Place, Morriston residence. Guerra is being held at the Levy County Detention Bureau with an additional bond set at $75,000.
The more recent August 11 arrest was based on an investigation into the discovery on August 4 of a Kubota skid steer construction vehicle, valued at $39,000, that was located on Guerra's property. The vehicle had been reported stolen in Pasco County, Florida on July 30, 2020. Deputies also located a van which was reported stolen from Dade County, Florida which was being used by Guerra on a regular basis and had been modified to conceal the actual Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Detectives also located the shell of another van with no visible VIN.
Guerra's August 4 charges included 2 counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle and possession of firearm by a convicted felon. His criminal history includes 39 felony charges and 3 convictions.
