Suspect in July 11, Inverness Regions Bank robbery arrested

Inverness, Florida - On Wednesday night, July 13, 26 year-old Hunter Dillon, of Inverness was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office as a suspect in the robbery of the Regions Bank, located at 809 W. Main Street in Inverness, that occurred on Monday, July 11, about 12:16 p.m. 

Detectives had identified Dillon as a suspect, which led to a warrant being issued for his arrest. Dillon was charged with robbery, aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer with violence. Dillion is incarcerated at the Citrus County Detention Facility, with his bond set at $72,000. 

The information released in regard to the Regions Bank robbery stated that the robbery suspect was a white male, approximately 25-35 years old, who was wearing a long sleeved orange shirt with the sleeves rolled-up, dark shorts, and a tan baseball cap. He was also carrying a gray backpack. The suspect entered the bank and demanded money, then left the bank, peddling a black bicycle, heading west on Main Street, toward County Road 581 (S. Pleasant Grove Rd.). A press release stated that no one was injured during the incident, but it did not state if he was armed or how much money, if any, was taken.

"Our detectives worked diligently to apprehend Dillon quickly, and his arrest demonstrates the persistence and determination of our detectives in keeping Citrus County safe," said Citrus County Sheriff Mike Prendergast.
