UPDATED: Michael Steven Downhour, 66, of Inglis, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, May 13, charged with child abuse without causing great bodily harm, with his bond set at release on his own recognizance. Levy County deputies were dispatched to an Inglis residence due to the report of a physical altercation that had started, by all accounts of the incident, due to a juvenile taking some snacks. The juvenile stated that Downhour had grabbed his/her head and throttled him/her, injuring his/her right ear. The report stated that the juvenile had a fresh cut to the back of his/her right ear and an abrasion under his/her left ear. The juvenile told a deputy that he/she had ran past Downhour, to go to a neighboring residence, and he/she had not pushed Mr. Downhour, who had been transported to a hospial due to his back hurting after he had allegedly been pushed by the juvenile. The report also stated that Downhour has a pre-existing back injury and two scratches on his arm that, "appeared to be dried and not at all recent," according to the report that quoted a different deputy, who had seen the scratches. The report stated that the deputy believed that any injury sustained by Mr. Downhour was due to the juvenile attempting to escape from a dangerous situation.
