UPDATED: Carl Jonathan Stallman, 33, of Morgantown, MD, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Jan. 31, charged with felony battery ($150,000 bond). At 2:45 am, a deputy was dispatched to a Chiefland, FL location due to a 911 call. A woman at the residence told the deputy that Mr. Stallman, her newly ex-boyfriend, had placed his hands around her neck, so that she was unable to breathe, which caused visable bruising to her neck. The victim stated that she struck Stallman's face three times with a closed fist, to break his hold on her neck, and he then placed her into a headlock, restraining her for approximately thirty minutes, which resulted in visable marks to both her shoulders. She said Stallman then wrapped his arms around her midsection and squeezed tightly, which resulted in a visable mark to the area under her left breast. Stallman told the deputy that the victim had awakened him by striking his face, which resulted in a visable red mark under his left eye, and he had wrapped his arms around her midsection in an attempt to stop her from striking his face. The report stated that the two had been living together at a Maryland residence for four to five months before traveling to Chiefland, where they'd lived together in a camper for one week.
Lewis Stanley, 53, of Steinhatchee, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Feb. 1, charged with driving under the influence, refusing to submit to driving under the influence testing after a license suspension, and refusing to sign or accept a citation or post bond ($66.000 bond).
