Levy County murder trial ends with convictions of Days and Robinson

Bronson, Florida - On Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, after a five-day trial that began on Monday, Nov. 29, Jalen K. Days, 22, and Andrew Robinson, 21, both of Williston, Florida, were convicted in Levy County Court on numerous charges related to a home invasion robbery that occurred on August 4, 2017, at the 4091 NE 212 Court, Williston residence of brothers James C. Patterson, 27, and Ramon Patterson, 23. James Patterson was shot and died while enroute to a local hospital, while Ramon Patterson was shot and injured.
Within days of the crimes, Days and Robinson were arrested by detectives with the Levy County Sheriff's Office. Each was charged with first degree murder and home invasion robbery.
Around 1:00 pm, the Jury returned a verdict; the results are listed below:
Jalen K. Days:
• Guilty as charged of murder in the first degree – did actually possess and discharge a firearm resulting in the death of James C. Patterson and did personally wear a mask.
• Guilty as charged of attempted felony murder - did actually possess and discharge a firearm resulting in the death or great bodily death of Ramon Patterson and did personally wear a mask.
• Guilty as charged of criminal conspiracy to commit a home invasion robbery.
• Guilty as charged of kidnapping – did actually possess and discharge a firearm resulting in death or great bodily harm and did personally wear a mask.
• Guilty as charged of home invasion robbery – did actually possess and discharge a firearm resulting in death or great bodily harm and did personally wear a mask.
• Guilty as charged of burglary while armed – did actually possess and discharge a firearm resulting in death or great bodily harm and did personally wear a mask.
• Guilty as charged of tampering with evidence.
Andrew Robinson:
• Guilty of the lesser of manslaughter - did personally wear a mask.
• Not guilty of attempted felony murder.
• Guilty as charged of criminal conspiracy to commit a home invasion robbery.
• Guilty as charged of kidnapping – did actually possess a firearm, did personally wear a mask.
• Guilty as charged of home invasion – did actually possess a firearm and did personally wear a mask.
• Guilty as charged of burglary while armed – did actually possess a firearm,and did personally wear a mask.
• Guilty as charged - tampering with physical evidence.
The court has scheduled sentencing for January 19, 2022.
"Justice has been achieved for the victims of this crime," said LCSO Lt. Scott Tummond. "The combined team effort of the patrol deputies, detectives and prosecutors, who dedicated countless hours preparing this case for the jury, made the outcome possible.
