A deputy arrived at the residence to find Mr. Peterson, sitting in a chair in the driveway, near the garage, and Peterson told him that he'd been armed, but he'd placed his zippered fanny pack inside the garage. The deputy located the fanny pack, which contained a Glock 26 semi-automatic pistol with an unspend round in the chamber, two additional fully loaded magazines and a large knife. Peterson told the deputy that he co-owns the residence, and he used to live there, and he was not in favor of a man who was at the residence, so he'd sent him a text message instructing him to leave, and he'd solicited a ride to the residence (because he'd consumed alcoholic beverages) to tell the man, in person, to leave the residence. The female vitim claimed that Peterson had recently developed a strong dislike for the male victim and had made statements about him; she said that the male victim had texted Peterson that he wanted no further communication with him, and Peterson had texted him back that he was enroute to the residence and told him to "get out now." The arrest report stated that the female adult victim said she did not hear Peterson enter the house, and the male victim said that Peterson had entered their bedroom singing happy birthday, squirted them with gasoline, told him to leave the house, and threatened to set him on fire while holding a lighter. The report also stated, at some point, Peterson had grabbed a shovel handle which he'd allegedly threatened the male victim with, but the male victim had gotten it away from him, and Peterson had allegedly grabbed the male victim's cell phone and locked himself in a bedroom with it, refusing to give it back to the male victim. The deputy reported that Peterson had also doused a juvenile female with gasoline. Peterson was charged with aggravated battery using a deadly weapon and aggravated child abuse (no bond).
