A wanted man, 38 year-old Steven Stacy of Williston, FL was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff’s Office, around 5:00 p.m., November 3, in Trenton, (Gilchrist County) Florida, with the assistance of the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office, the Trenton Department of Public Safety and the United States Marshals Fugitive Apprehension Unit.
Authorities have been actively searching for Mr. Stacy since October 11, 2021 when he cut his electronic monitoring device from his ankle and fled on foot from his home in north Williston. Stacy, a registered sex offender who is currently on probation for tampering with evidence in a homicide investigation, had evaded capture for more than three weeks.
Stacy was held overnight at the Gilchrist County Jail in Trenton and transported to the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bronson, Florida the following morning. He was initially charged with probation violation, and he's facing additional charges that will include tampering with an electronic monitoring device and several violations of his sex offender registration requirements. His bond will be set at 'no bond' until his first appearance in Levy County court.
