Chiefland man charged with sex crimes against minor and disabled adult

Levy County, Florida - On October 27, detectives with  the Levy County Sheriff’s Office arrested 51 year-old Johannes Van-Akkeren of Chiefland, Florida, who was charged with two counts of sexual assault, one against a disabled adult and one against a minor, age 16 to 17. He was incarcerated at the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bronson, Florida with his bond set at $3 million.

During the investigation of this case, the LCSO was assisted by the University of Florida Child Protection Team. The LCSO and other agencies have taken steps to provide safety and follow up care for the victims.  

According to a LCSO press release, these crimes occurred in the Chiefland area, and evidence shows that Van-Akkeren committed other sexual crimes against the same victims in other law enforcement jurisdictions.
