Shane Mozdzer-Mackey, 27, of Bronson, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Sept. 27, charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle ($35,000 bond). The report stated that the owner of a Ford F150 pickup truck reported that he'd dropped off his truck at a residence in the 9000 block of NE 88th Ln. in Bronson for minor repairs, and he'd left the key - on a red lanyard - on the vehicle's dash, with the door unlocked. The vehicle was last seen parked in front of the residence at 9:30 pm, Sept. 26, but it was not there at 7:30 am the following morning. The vehicle owner searched surrounding roads for his vehicle and found Mozdzer-Mackey walking nearby, with a vehicle key on a red lanyard around his neck, that that the victim recognized as his lanyard and truck key. The vehicle owner confronted Mozdzer-Mackey, whom he said told him he'd not stolen the truck, that he'd bought it in Gainesville, FL. The victim took the lanyard and key from Mozdzer-Mackey before Mozdzer-Mackey fled into the woods. A short time later, Mozdzer-Mackey exited the wooded area and was taken into custody by deputies. Mozdzer-Mackey claimed he'd purchased the vehicle from a duo for $20,000, according to the report, stating he'd paid $1,500 down and agreed to pay the balance at $200 per month. He said he'd stored the Bill of Sale documents in a safe at a relative's home. The report stated that one of the alleged sellers of the vehicle has been incarcerated since June 29, 2021, and the other is wearing a GPS monitoring device and was not in the location where the alleged vehicle sale occured, and Mozdzer-Mackey's relative told deputies that she had not seen Mozdzer-Mackey when he said he'd been at her house, and he'd not given her any paperwork to store. Later in the day, the stolen truck was located east of the Bronson Speedway, stuck on rocks in a retention ditch.
Joseph Russell Nix, 36, of Archer, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Sept. 28, charged with possession of a wepon or ammunition by a convicted Florida felon, and possession of drug equipment ($16,000 bond).
Nathan Anthony Lee Nolan, 18, of Greeback, TN, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Oct. 1, charged with driving while license suspended or revoked, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of drug equipment ($18,000 bond).
Sage Chandler O'Connor, 25, of Cedar Key, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Sept. 29, on two counts of probation violation (no bond).
Joshua Adam Pippin, 41, of Trenton, FL, was arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office, Oct. 1, charged with attaching registration to a license plate not assigned to it, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of drug equipment ($30,500 bond).
