On July 22, at 5:28 pm, Terrance Bernard Jenkins, 27, of Inglis, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office when he was located driving a stolen vehicle, a red 2005 Hyundai Elantra, and a traffic stop was conducted in the parking lot of the Publix supermarket, located at 1012 W. Main St. in Inverness. Upon his arrest, Mr. Jenkins was found to be in possession of 0.2 gram of heroin, which was located on his person within a folded receipt inside a black plastic baggie.

The arrest report stated that the vehicle had been reported stolen, a short time before he was arrested, by a Crystal River woman. The woman told deputies that her friend, Mr. Jenkins, had taken her car keys from the table next to her bed while she was asleep, and he'd taken her car without her permission. She said, earlier in the day, Jenkins had asked her to give him a ride and became upset when she told him no. Just a short while later, deputies located the car and Mr. Jenkins in Inverness.

Jenkins was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia ($5,000 bond). He was also arrested  on a Citrus County warrant for violation of misdemeanor probation on an original charge of possession of cannabis less than 20 grams, with a cash only bond of $905.
