On July 15, at 1:20 pm, Dominic Richard Murray, 49, of Beverly Hills, Florida, was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office (CCSO), as the suspect in the theft of a Kenner boat with a 90 horsepower outboard motor, valued at $4,000.

The boat was reported stolen on June 18 from a business located at 6420 S. Suncoast Blvd. in Homosassa. Entry was made into the property by cutting a perimeter fence and forcing open the gate.

On July 13, the CCSO was contacted by the Marion County Sheriff's Office with information that a person had purchased the stolen Kenner boat on CraigsList and was attempting to register it.

On July 14, the person who had sold the boat on CraigsList told a deputy that Mr. Murray had brought the boat to her residence.

Deputies learned that Mr. Murray was incarcerated at the Citrus County Detention Facility on unrelated charges and spoke with him there. He told a deputy that his friend had used his truck, several times, and had then given him the boat, which he estimated was worth approximately $500. He said he didnt know where his friend had gotten the boat, but it was probably stolen.

The deputy reported, on July 15, he spoke with Mr. Murray's friend who told him that he had not given Murray a boat, and didn't even know that Murray had a boat.

Murray was charged with grand theft of $750 or more, but less than $5,000 ($2,000 bond).
