PSO Walter Nolan retires after 16 year of service with CCSO

Inverness, Florida -  Walter Nolan, a staple of the Inverness landscape for 16 years as a Public Service Officer for the City of Inverness, is retiring from the Citrus County Sheriff's Office.

Nolan started with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office in April, 2004, as one of two paid Public Service Officers, contracted by the City of Inverness through the Citrus County Sheriff's Office (CCSO). Throughout his career, Nolan garnered commendations for his dedicated service to the citizens of Citrus County.

"It is employees like PSO Walter Nolan who is the heart and soul of the Citrus County Sheriff's Office," said Sheriff Mike Prendergast. "Their service above self exemplifies their dedication to our community. We thank PSO Nolan for his efforts in keeping the City of Inverness safe."

The Public Service Officer position within the Citrus County Sheriff's Office assists with the Patrol Division's day-to-day operations, working hand-in-hand with deputy sheriffs on a variety of calls, which include conducting selective traffic enforcement, investigating minor traffic crashes, verifying vehicle VINs (vehicle identification numbers), conducting wellbeing checks, and documenting non-felony reports.
