Citrus County, Florida - The Citrus County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) recently announced the retirement of its Emergency Management Coordinator, Bretlee Jordan, after nearly 17 years of service.
In 2004, Mr. Jordan began his career with the agency as a Radiological Emergency Planning Coordinator. In this position, Mr. Jordan worked closely with Duke Energy's nuclear sector to ensure that plans were in place to ensure the community's safety in the event of an emergency.
After the close of the nuclear power program in 2015, Mr. Jordan began working as the Emergency Management Coordinator, where he assisted his agency's Emergency Operations team with the management of multiple grants that helped fund the operation of his division. He also worked with long-term care facilities within the county to ensure their emergency plans met state requirements.
Mr. Jordan has also made a positive impact on the community through his involvement in the agency's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program, trainig volunteers in basic disaster response skills for potential hazard situations.
"Bretlee has dedicated his career to demonstrating excellence in his commitment to the Citrus County community," said Sheriff Prendergast. "It has been an honor to serve alongside Bretlee during my tenure as sheriff, and it is my hope that he enjoys a long and fulfilling retirement."
