Archer (Levy County), Florida - On Friday, February 14, 2025, 33 year-old Julio Bernard Rodriguez, of Archer, Florida, was arrested as the result of an investigation into a tip received by the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, that child pornography material was being transmitted at his Archer, Florida address.
The Levy County Sheriff’s Office, an active participant in the North Florida ICAC Task Force, conducted an investigation, in conjunction with the Gainesville Police Department (GPD), into the tip. As a result of the investigation, Rodriguez was arrested by LCSO Criminal Investigations Division and GPD ICAC Unit detectives.
The Cyber Tip, initially investigated by the Gainesville Police Department ICAC Unit, determined that Rodriguez was storing child sexual abuse material on an electronic device. Gainesville Police Department detectives learned that Rodriguez resided within Levy County, and the agency forwarded the investigation to the Levy County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division. As a result of the investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for Rodriguez and his residence.
During the search of Rodriguez's Archer residence, detectives found a computer and a cellphone belonging to Rodriguez that contained child sexual abuse material.
Rodriguez was placed under arrest, charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography and 1 count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device. He was transported to the Levy County Detention Bureau in Bronson, Florida, where as incarcerated, The following day, Saturday, February 15, 2025, Rodriguez’s bond was set at $1.1 million.
ICAC investigations often start with cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Due to these tips, detectives gather information through subpoenas, search warrants and interviews. These investigations take weeks or months to gather sufficient evidence to bring a perpetrator to justice.
