CCFR donates surplus Bambi Bucket to Florida Forest Service

Citrus County Fire Rescue donated a Bambi Bucket to the Florida Forest Service (FFS) this week. The Bambi Bucket is an aerial firefighting tool used to drop water or a fire retardant onto a wildfire from a helicopter.
A key feature of the Bambi Bucket is its ability to be filled quickly and easily from sources that include lakes, rivers, and swimming pools, allowing firefighters to quickly refill the bucket and return to fighting the fire.
“This item is no longer utilized by Citrus County Fire Rescue; however, it will be beneficial to our partners at Florida Forest Service, as well as remain a benefit to the citizens of Citrus County," said Fire Chief Craig Stevens with Citrus County Fire Rescue.
