Two airplane passengers injured, crashing into a tree while landing, in Hernando, FL

Hernando, Florida - At 9:35 pm on Sunday night, May 7, 2023, Citrus County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) deputies and emergency personnel with Citrus County Fire Rescue responded to North Fairwind Loop in Hernando, Florida, due to an airplane crash. According to the CCSO, the small two-passenger plane crashed as it struck a tree while attempting to land. The plane was not on fire. The two occupants were both transported to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital (formerly Ocala Regional Medical Center) in Ocala, Florida with non-life-threatening injuries.
