Waitlist lifted for Citrus County Septic Upgrade Incentive Grant Program
The Citrus County Septic Upgrade Incentive Program’s waitlist has been lifted, after more than $1,000,000 in additional funding was received for the program. Additionally, the tank upgrade deadline has been extended to Saturday, September 30, 2023. A Senior Program Assistant, Chelsea Gibson, has also been assigned to assist with the grant application process. The Septic Upgrade Program provides a reimbursement of up to $7,000 per existing home to eligible homeowners in a pre-approved FDEP area, to cover grant eligible expenses to install nitrogen-reducing enhancements to an existing conventional Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal Systems (OSTDS). Grant applications will be accepted until funds are exhausted or the program deadline of Saturday, September 30, 2023, has been met.
