Hernando County, Florida - Early Wednesday morning, June 9, at 3:32 a.m., Hernando County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the U.S. Post Office facility, located at 8501 Philatelic Road in Spring Hill, Florida, due to the complaint of a 7-foot-long alligator roaming the post office lobby. The alligator was observed by a patron who went to the post office to mail a package. This post office allows entrance into the lobby by way of automatic double doors. A licensed alligator trapper was contacted, and safely removed the alligator from the lobby.
