About David Pieklik, Citrus Couny's Economic Development Director
For nine years, David served as the Executive Director for the Nature Coast Business Development Council, Inc. in Levy County, where he supervised more than 500 projects in the areas of aviation, agriculture, manufacturing and healthcare, and assisted in growing key technology companies through business retention and expansion. He also relocated a boat manufacturer to the area that was expected to increase its product lines and local employment by more than 100 workers.
David has been networking with various community partners in Citrus County, to learn more about needs and create more opportunities for future employees and entrepreneurs. His work includes collaborating on a proposed aviation mechanics training academy, working with educators and employers to create additional programs for careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), and capitalizing on potential distribution and logistics projects made possible by the Suncoast Parkway Extension.
He is excited to work with the community toward collective successes and see more graduating students enter into desirable careers here.
Outside of work, David likes to take his 11 year old Siberian husky, Dakota, with him into the Withlacoochee State Forest and other adventures. He's a trivia enthusiast who also enjoys reading and road trips.
