INVERNESS, FL. The Citrus County Clerk’s Office will soon begin offering certified copies of court
documents and official records online through eCertify. A task that once required a trip to the Clerk’s
office is now a few clicks away on a computer or smart phone with this new service. eCertify is
available 24-7, 365 days a year and will curb the need for in-person visits to the clerk’s office. As a
bonus feature, once you have created your account and accessed your certified document, it will
always be available to you at no additional charge.
“This is another excellent example of the digital revolution continuing to transform the Clerk’s office in
the past decade,” Citrus County Clerk of Court & Comptroller Angela Vick said. “Documents once
stored on paper and accessible only in person or via the mail, are now available electronically any
time of the day or night. Going digital not only is convenient, it’s a much safer alternative during these
times.”
eCertify is designed to combat fraudulent mortgages, deeds, and other public documents. “Now my
staff can quickly and efficiently provide documents electronically to customers and certify their
authenticity in a secure system,” said Clerk Vick. This service uses advanced encrypted features to
produce tamper-proof, secure, electronically certified court and official record documents.
Non-certified copies of court documents and official records are available online for free, but
customers often need certified copies of documents, such as a divorce decree, marriage license or
satisfaction of mortgage to prove authenticity. Additional court documents such as name change,
probate letters, or domestic violence restraining orders are also available.
