Dunnellon, FL man dies as result of two-vehicle crash/fire on SR 484

Marion County, Florida - A 55 year-old man from Dunnellon, Florida died as the result of a two-vehicle traffic crash that occurred at 12:55 pm, Thursday, February 25, on County Road 484, west of SW 120th Avenue, in Dunnellon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man killed in the crash was driving a sedan, traveling east of County Road 484, and the other vehicle, a truck tractor driven by a 23 year-old man from Ocala, Florida, was traveling west on County Road 484. 

For inknown reasons, the sedan crossed over the center line and entered into the truck tractor's path of travel. The driver of the truck tractor swerved to his right, in an unsuccessful attempt to avoid a collision, and the front of the sedan struck the front of the truck tractor and became lodged under the truck tractor's front section. Both vehicles became engulfed in fire. 

The driver of the sedan was pronounced deceased on the scene of the crash by Marion County Fire Rescue. The driver and the 61 year-old passenger of the truck tractor both suffered minor, non-incapacitating injuries.
