One dies, two seriously injured, as result of Ocala motorcycle/sedan crash

Marion County, Florida - A 65 year-old Ocala woman, the back passenger of a motorcycle, died as the result of a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Tuesday afternoon, Feruary 16, at 6:16 pm, in Ocala. The crash occurred on SW 38th St., near SW 74th Ave.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcycle was driven by a 54 year old Ocala man who was seriously injuried in the crash. The front of the motorcycle crashed into the front of a sedan, driven by a 56 year-old woman from Hernando, Florida who was also seriously injuried in the crash. The motorcycle was traveling east, and the sedan was traveling west.
Marion County Fire Rescue responded to the crash scene and transported both drivers to Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala, where the femal passenger of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased. The cause of the crash is under investigation and was not revelealed in the press release. The names of the people were also not released due to Marsy's Law, Florida's victim protection law.
