Crystal River man killed in Feb. 12 motorcycle crash into Inverness building

Citrus County, Florida - A 29 year-old Crystal River man was killed as the resut of a single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in downtown Inverness, Florida on Friday night, February 12, at 8:58 pm. 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash occurred on State Road 44 (West Main Street) at Courthouse Square. The driver was driving a motorcycle, traveling northwest on State Road 44, failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, at the intersection of Courthouse Square, and collided with a building, the Joy Hayes Court Reporting office, located at 407 Courthouse Square. The driver, who was not wearing a helmet, according to the FHP press release, suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
