Gainesville motorcyclist killed in Alachua County crash with Williston SUV driver

Alachua County, Florida - A 20 year-old Gainesville, Florida man riding a motorcycle was killed in a traffic crash that occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 5:24 pm. in Alachua County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 64 year-old Williston, Florida man was driving a 2016 Kia Sorrento sports utility vehicle (SUV), traveling west on State Road 26, while the Gainesvelle youth was driving a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle, traveling east on State Road 26.
At the intersection of State Road 26 with Alachua County Road 241, the driver of the SUV made a left turn in front of the motorcycle, and the front of the motorcycle struck the right front of the SUV. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on the scene of the crash. The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries.
According to the FHP, the motorcyclist was wearing a seatbelt, and the driver of the SUV was wearing a seatbelt. The names of the people involved in the crash were not released due to Marsy's Law, Florida's victim privacy law.
