Dunnellon man, 21, killed in crash on SW 5 Pl. at SW 210 Ave., Dunnellon

Marion County, Florida - A 21 year-old Dunnellon, FL man died as the result of a single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred during the late night or early morning hours of Sunday evening or Monday morning, Nov. 29 and 30. 

According to a press release by the Florida Highway Parol (FHP), the man was driving a sedan, traveling west on SW 5th Place, approaching a T-intersection with SW 210th Avenue. The report stated that the driver failed to observe the stop sign, traveled through the intersection, and the front of the vehicle struck a tree on the west shoulder of the roadway. 

According to the press release, the crash was discovered by a passerby after daylight, and the driver was pronounced deceased on the scene of the crash by Marion County Fire Rescue at 7:13 am. The report also stated that the driver carried no passengers and was not wearing a seatbelt.

Citing Marsy's Law as the reason, the FHP no longer identifies the people, or the specific models of vehicles, in its press releases regarding traffic crashes.
