A Media Alert by the FHP stated, that in Inverness, deputies became involved in the pursuit due to a domestic battery incident, and an aggravated assault incident involving a law enforcement officer, when Ms. Holubec nearly hit a patrol vehicle as she fled from deputies and the Inverness residence where the incident occurred.

When Holubec reached Fort Dade Ave., north of SR 50, troopers performed a PIT (precision immobilization techniique) maneuver, which caused the Nissan to enter an adjacent wooded area and overturn.
