1 year-old boy dies after being struck by vehicle in Hernando, FL parking lot

According to a press release by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 1 year-old Hernando, FL boy, struck by a GMC pickup truck at 2:20 pm, on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 5, died at an area hospital as the result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of RV, Boat & Trailer Storage, located at 2211 E. Norvell Bryant Hwy. in Hernando, FL. The boy was transported to the hospital by Nature Coast EMS. The driver of the pickup truck was the boy's 49 year-old grandmother who was driving the truck in reverse at the time of the crash. 

Initially citing Marsy’s Law, press releases by the FHP regarding traffic crashes no longer give specific details regarding the people or the vehicles involved in traffic crashes.
