Good Samarians remove Ocala man from fiery truck crash on CR 488, Dunnellon, FL

Dunnellon, Citrus County, Florida - A 40 yeear-old Ocala, Florida man was critically injured during a single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred on Friday morning, October 30, 2020, at 8:45 am.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a tractor trailer rig, traveling eastbound on Dunnellon Road (County Road 488), east of Rousseau Drive in Dunnellon, when a tire blew out, which caused the driver to lose control of the truck, which departed from the roadway and entered the south shoulder, collided with several trees,
overturned and caught fire. 

Shortly after the crash occurred, two Good Samaritans arrived on scene, saw that the truck was on fire and the driver was struggling to exit the truck. The Good Samaritans assisted the driver by cutting his seatbelt and removing him from the fiery vehicle. They provided him with aid until the arrival of emergency medical services and fire rescue.
