Inverness motorcyclist, 62, critically injured in Oct. 7, Citrus County crash at SR 200 and CR 491

A traffic crash that occurred at 4:05 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 7, resulted in critical injuries to the 62 year-old Inverness driver of a motorccycle and minor injuries to the 29 year-old Dunnellon driver of a sedan.

According to a press release by the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred in Citrus County at the intnersection of State Road 200 and County Road 491. The sedan was traveling north on CR 491 and had stopped at the stop intersection with SR 200, and the motorcucle was traveling south on SR 200, approaching CR 491. At the intersection, the sedan turned left into the path of the motorcycle, and the motorcycle collided with the left side of the sedan. 

After the impact, both vehicles came to final rest north of the intersection, the sedan withint the median of SR 200, and the motorcycle within the southbound lane of SR 200. 

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, and the driver of the sedan was wearing a seatbelt.
