2 children receive minor injuries during Inverness school bus crash

At 9:20 am, on Tuesday, Oct.6, a Citrus County school bus was involved in a single vehicle traffic crash in Inverness. According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, the bus was traveling east on East Stage Coach Trail, approaching the intersection with Forest Road 13 (Trail 13), when the driver, a 61 year-old Lecanto woman, prepaed to make a turn. The release stated that she stopped and began backing left (north) onto Trail 13, and the left rear of the bus struck a state forest sign at the northeast portion of the intersection. The impact caused the left rear side window of the bus to shatter, which causing minor injuries to two of the 21 elementary-aged children aboard the bus. The driver was The other adult passenger was a 58 year-old Beverly Hills woman. Neither of the adults was injured.
