Unidentified woman struck and killed by SUV while attempting to walk across US 19 in Homosassa

Homosassa (Citrus County), Florida - At 10:20 p.m. on Monday evening, June 2, 2025, a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Homosassa and suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the unidentified woman attempted to walk across U.S. Highway 19, in an area south of U.S. Highway 98, and walked into the path of a Ford Explorer sport utility vehicle (SUV) that was traveling south on U.S. Highway 19, which resulted in the woman being struck and killed by the vehicle. The driver of the SUV was a 27 year-old woman from Citra, Florida.
