Dump truck/van crash in Webster, FL results in death of van driver

Webster (Sumter County), Florida - A crash between a dump truck and a Chevrolet van resulted in the death of the driver of the van, but no injuries to the driver of the dump truck. The crash occurred at 5:37 am on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, north of Webster, Florida, at the intersection of County Road 476 and State Road 471.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the dump truck, driven by a 63 year-old man from Floral City, Florida, was traveling east on County Road 476, nearing the intersection of State Road 471. At the intersection, the dump truck driver failed to stop at the stop sign, and entered into the path of the Chevrolet van, traveling north on State Road 471, driven by a 45 year-old man from Webster, Florida, which resulted in the van striking the dump truck.
The driver of the van was transported to an area hospital, where he later expired from injuries suffered during the crash.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured during the crash.
