Hudson driver dies in US 19, Port Richey crash; Tennessee driver and Homosassa passenger uninjured

Port Richey (Pasco County), Florida - A two-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Pasco County, Florida at 7:05 pm, Friday evening, January 24, 2025, resulted in the death of one of the drivers, but no injury to the other driver or his passenger. The crash occurred in Port Richey, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 19 and Regency Park Boulevard.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 68 year-old man from Deer Lodge, Tennessee was driving a Kia Sorento compact sport utility vehicle, traveling west on Regency Park Boulevard. 

At the intersection with U.S. Highway 19, the driver of the Kia Sorrento turned right onto U.S, Highway 19, into the path of a Hummer H2 full-size off-road sport utility vehicle, driven by a 55 year-old man from Hudson, Florida, that was traveling north on U.S. Highway 19. As a result, the Kia Sorrento collided with the Hummer H2, which rotated off the highway and overturned. As the Hummer overturned, its driver was ejected from the vehicle. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of the crash.  

The driver of the Kia Sorrento and his passenger, a 56 year-old man from Homosassa, Florida, were not injured during the traffic crash.
