Two woman killed in crash on SR 121 in Micanopy, FL

One driver from Gainesville, FL; the other from Crystal River. FL

Alachua County, Florida - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle crash in which both drivers, who were each the only occupant of their vehicle, were both killed. The crash occurred at 4:48 am, December 3, 2024, on State Road 121 (Williston Road) just south of SW Wacahoota Road in Micanopy (Alachua County), Florida. 

According to the FHP, a 30 year-old woman from Gainesville, Florida was driving  a sedan, traveling south, and crossed the center line of the roadway, traveling into the path of another sedan, traveling north, driven by a 57 year-old woman from Crystal River, Florida. As a result, the two vehicles struck each other head-on. 

Both drivers were transported to University of Florida Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida where they were both pronounced deceased.

According to the FHP, the woman from Gainesville was not wearing a seatbelt, while the woman from Crystal River was.
