Clearwater man dies after crashing into power pole and pizzeria in Crystal River

Crystal River, Florida -  A 48 year-old man from Clearwater, Florida died as the result of a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred at 7:30 am on Wednesday morning, October 30, 2024.

The man was driving a Ford F150 pickup truck, traveling south on U.S. Highway 19 in Crystal River, when for unknown reasons north of NE 2nd Avenue, the driver lost control of the truck, which traveled across the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 19, collided with a power pole, and then Marco’s Pizza, located at 719 NW U.S. Highway 19.  

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
