Man, driving in Inverness during Hurricane Milton, killed by tree falling on his car

Inverness, Florida - A 46 year-old man from Inverness died as the result of a tree falling on his car while Hurricane Milton was making its way through west Central Florida. The incident occurred at 1:30 am on Thursday, October 16, 2024 in Inverness.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a Ford Taurus car, traveling east on East Parsons Point Road. east of North Tomberlin Point, when a falling tree collided with the car. The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
