Female pedestrian struck by truck in Port Richey dies at hospital; Inglis driver uninjured

Port Richey (Pasco County), Florida - At 1:45 am on Saturday, September 28, 2024, a pedestrian who walked into the path of a vehicle later died as the result of being struck by the vehicle. The incident occurred on U.S. Highway 19, near the intersection of Scenic Drive in Port Richey.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a Ford F150 pickup truck, driven by a 70 year-old man from Inglis, Florida, was traveling north on U.S. Highway 19, approaching the intersection of Scenic Drive. 

The pedestrian, a 55 year-old woman from Port Richey, was walking in an eastbound direction across the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 19, south of the crosswalk, and walked into the path of the pickup truck and was struck by it.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital where she later expired.  

The driver was of the pickup truck was not injured during the incident
