Bronson man driving motorcycle dies as result of crash with sedan near Gainesville

Alachua County, Florida - The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a two-vehicle crash involving a sedan and motorcycle that occurred at 10:32 am on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, on State Road 24 (Archer Road) west of Gainesville, Florida in Alachua County.  According to the FHP, the vehicles collided in the roadway as both drivers were attempting to pass other traffic. 

As a result of the collision, the motorcycle traveled off the roadway where it struck a utility pole. The driver of the motorcycle, a 40 year-old man from Bronson, Florida who was wearing a helmet, was transported to the University of Florida (UF) Health Hospital in Gainesville where he was pronounced deceased. 

The driver of the sedan, a 47 year-old woman from Archer, Florida, was not injured
