One dead and two seriously injured in firey traffic crash north of Inglis, FL

Levy County, Florida - The Florida Highway Patrol investigated a two-vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred at 11:24 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2024, on U.S. Highway 19, north of Inglis, Florida.

A pickup truck driven by a 37 year-old man from Williston, Florida was traveling north on US Highway 19, when a sport utility vehicle (SUV) driven by a 67 year-old man from Orange Park, Florida pulled out in front of the truck from the median crossover. 

As a result of the collision, the SUV became engulfed in flames. The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene of the crash.

The passenger of the SUV, a 63 year-old man from Jacksonville, Florida, and the driver of the pickup truck were both transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida in serious condition.
