Man dies after losing control of truck on US 41 in Inverness, hitting pipe, tree, then overturning

A single vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Inverness, Florida at 4:16 am on Monday, February 26, 2024, resulted in the death of a 62 year-old man from Hernando, Florida.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a Chevy Silverado pickup truck, traveling south on U.S. Highway 41. 

South of Davidson Avenue, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle, entered into a construction zone area where it struck a water pipe, became airborne, then struck a tree and overturned. 

The driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
