Dunnellon man dies as result of Ocala, FL crash at SW 29th St./US 41 intersection

A 50 year-old man from Dunnellon, Florida died as the result of a traffic crash that occurred between two pickup trucks in Ocala, Florida at 7:35 pm, Friday evening, March 1, 2024, at the intersection of SW 29th Street and U.S. Highway 41.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man from Dunnellon was traveling west on SW 29th Street and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. Highway 41. His pickup truck entered into the path of travel of a pickup truck, driven by a 61 year-old woman from Morriston, Florida, traveling south on U.S. Highway 41 at the same intersection, which resulted in the front of the Morriston woman's pickup truck striking the left side of the Dunnellon man's pickup truck.
The man from Dunnellon, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash by Marion County Fire Rescue personnel.
The woman from Morriston sustained non-incapacitating injuries.
