Homosassa (Citrus County), Florida - Two men, ages 38 and 63 years-old, both from Crystal River, Florida, died as the result of a two-vehicle, head-on traffic crash that occurred at 6:55 pm, Wednesday evening, February 21, 2024 in Homosassa.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 38 year-old man was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe compact SUV, traveling north on South Rock Crusher Road, and just north of West Minuteman Street - and for unknown reasons - his vehicle crossed the center line of the roadway and collided head-on with a Pontiac G6 mid-size car driven by the 63 year-old man that was traveling south (in the opposite direction) on South Rock Crusher Road. 

The 63 year-old driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, while the 38 year-old driver was transported to an area hospital where he later expired from injuries suffered during the crash.
