Homosassa, Florida - A 43 year-old woman from Homosassa died as the resut of being struck by two vehicles at 12:00 am midnight, Monday morning, February 12, 2024, in Homosassa.

The incident occurred on U.S. Highway 19, south of West Village Drive. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, for reasons that are unknown, the woman was standing within the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 19, and was struck by the two vehicles, both traveling north on U.S. Highway 19. The woman was first struck by a Ford F150 pickup truck driven by a 27 year-old woman from Dunnellon, Florida, then by a Ford F250 pickup truck, traveling behind the first truck, driven by a 68 year-old man from Crystal River, Florida. 

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. The drivers of the pickup trucks were not injured.
