FHP seeking INFO: hit and run driver of dark pickup, seriously injuring Dunnellon motorcyclist on SR 200 in Ocala
Ocala (Marion County), Florida - A 74 year-old man from Dunnellon, Florida was seriously injured in a traffic crash that occurred about 2:17 pm on Thursday afternoon, February 2, 2024, in Ocala.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the injured man, who was not wearing a helmet, was driving a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle, traveling north on State Road 200, approaching 100th Street, and as he neared the intersection, a dark-colored pickup truck turned left, in front of the motorcycle, which resulted in the front of the motorcycle colliding with the right side of the pickup truck.
After the collision, the pickup truck fled the scene of the crash and was last seen traveling south on State Road 200.
The injured motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
