Dunnellon man driving motorcycle killed in crash involving two SUVs on US 41 in Ocala

Ocala, Florida - A three vehicle crash that occurred in Ocala, Florida at 7:15 pm, Saturday evening, January 13, 2024, in Ocala, resulted in the death of a 40 year-old man from Dunnellon, Florida. The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 41, at the intersection of SW 54th Street.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 58 year-old woman, also from Dunnellon, was driving a sport utility vehicle (SUV), traveling north on US Highway 41. As she attempted to turn left onto SW 54th Street, her vehicle traveled directly into the path of the motorcycle, that was traveling south on U.S. Highway 41. This resulted in the motorcycle colliding into the right side of the SUV. A third, vehicle, a SUV that was traveling behind the motorcycle, also traveling south on U.S. Highway 41, collided with the motorcycle, just as it came to rest.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on the scene of the crash by Marion County Fire Rescue. He was wearing a helmet.
The second SUV was driven by a 91 year-old woman from Inverness, Florida, whose passenger was a 67 year-old woman, also from Inverness.
None the three passengers in the two SUVs were injured, and all three were wearing a seatbelt.
