FDOT project 257165-3-52-01, widening of US 41, from SR 44 to Withlacoochee Trail bridge

Inverness, Florida - As of approximately 9:00 am on Monday, January 8, 2024, Montgomery Avenue in Inverness is closed to all traffic, from slightly south of Sterling Road to the US 41 intersection. This northern portion of the road will remain closed, around-the-clock, until approximately Monday, January 22, 2024.

The Sterling Road access to Montgomery Avenue is also closed during the same period. All access to and from Sterling Road and the businesses located on Sterling Road is only available from the east end at US 41.

DETOUR ROUTES: 
• Access to Montgomery Avenue will remain open at the SR 44 (W. Main Street) intersection. 
• Southbound US 41 traffic wishing to access Montgomery Avenue will continue past the intersection, turn right onto SR 44 (W Main Street), then turn right onto northbound Montgomery Avenue. 
• All other access remains the same, except for Sterling Road as described above.

Drivers are advised to follow detour signs and allow extra time to reach their destinations. This closure is part of the US 41 widening project - from SR 44 to south of the bridge over the Withlacoochee State Trail.
