Ohio man dies as result of Dec. 13 motorcycle crash in Chiefland, FL

Chiefland, Florida - A 50 year-old man from Marietta, Ohio died as the result of a single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred at 10:20 pm, Wednesday, December 13, 2023 in Chiefland.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was operating a motorcycle, traveling north on NW Levy County Road 345. 

While negotiating a right hand curve, the motorcycle crossed over the center line, crossed the southbound lane, continued north onto the west grass shoulder of County Road 345, over NW 100th St., and onto the north grass shoulder of NW 100th St. where the front of the motorcycle collided with a wooden fence.
 
After the impact, the motorcycle continued traveling north, and the driver fell off the motorcycle. The motorcycle came to final rest facing south. The operator was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.   

The FHP crash report stated that the driver was wearing a helmet.
